The core of the work of The GC Rivera Foundation is provided by volunteer doctors, nurses, and support staff. Our surgeries and clinics are run and staffed by volunteer medical professionals and support personnel who use their own time, talents and money to do this important work.
In addition, there is limited space on each mission for non-medical volunteers, assigned based on need by the mission coordinators. Volunteers work on logistics, on clinic intake, on art projects with people awaiting surgery, and on spreading positivity. In most countries, volunteers travel to local children’s homes and schools, and may work with local partners on initiatives ranging from clean water to burn prevention. The GC Rivera Foundation offers a limited number of travel grants to help defray the costs of the trips. |
